AREAS FOR FURTHER IMPROVEMENT

Further improvement can occur in the areas of my research agenda, knowledge of and experience with quantitative methodologies, and international collaboration. I have recently started to explore formal and informal mentoring relationships as a research thread. Taking more courses in quantitative methodologies and more specifically, using canonical correlation analysis, will benefit me in finalizing my dissertation proposal. My future goal is to conduct research with international scholars and become involved with the AHRD Asia and Europe chapters. I also plan to become a reviewer for one of the AHRD journals.

AREAS OF PERSONAL STRENGTH

SUMMATIVE EVALUATION COMMENTS

As a scholar-practitioner, I have demonstrated my perseverance and commitment to exploring a strong research agenda and pursuing a steady publication record with four scholarly publications, nine presentations, and seven proceedings. The teaching and course redesign experiences enabled me to be better prepared to face the challenges of teaching in the 21st century. My service at UNT and various professional associations motivated me to continue to serve as a reviewer for AHRD and AOM conferences and Learning and Performance Quarterly. I am eager and confident to present my dissertation proposal in the Spring of 2013.

My areas of strength include the ability to think critically, conduct research effectively, explore problems of both scholarly and practical significance, write clearly and concisely, and collaborate with others. Still a doctoral student, I have led proposals for symposium and innovative sessions at international conferences. I can work equally effectively independently or in collaboration with others. In addition, my ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with various mid-level and executive level professionals established through my membership in professional associations provides access to research participants and can result in consulting and grant funding opportunities.
